Easy Matcha Overnight Oats for Busy Mornings

These creamy matcha overnight oats are an easy breakfast for busy mornings. They combine the gentle earthy flavor of matcha with oats, chia seeds, and a naturally sweet plant-based creaminess.

For one serving, combine 50 grams of rolled oats, one teaspoon of chia seeds, half a teaspoon of good-quality matcha, 150 milliliters of oat or almond milk, two tablespoons of plant-based yogurt, and one teaspoon of maple syrup. Add a small pinch of vanilla and salt.

Sift the matcha into a jar or bowl to prevent lumps. Add a splash of milk and whisk until smooth. Stir in the remaining milk, yogurt, maple syrup, oats, and chia seeds. Cover and refrigerate for at least four hours, preferably overnight.

In the morning, stir the oats and adjust the consistency with a little more milk. Top with fresh berries, sliced banana, pistachios, coconut flakes, or toasted seeds. For a brighter flavor, add a little lemon zest.

The recipe can be prepared for several days at once. Store individual portions in sealed jars and add fresh toppings just before serving. If you prefer a stronger matcha taste, increase the amount gradually, as too much can make the oats bitter.

This breakfast is creamy, refreshing, and easy to take on the go. It also looks beautiful, with its soft green color and colorful fruit toppings.
